Great soap dispensers, gotta use the right viscosity of soap May 1, 2011

This is Robert's wife. I have two of these dispensers and I LOVE 'em! Two things new buyers need to know: First, the instructions talk about only using liquid hand soap and what kind of soap NOT to use except they don't spell out the difference between dish washing detergent and hand soap. You can use dish washing detergent provided it has a viscosity (thickness) very similar to or the same as liquid hand soaps. I used regular Dawn dish washing detergent and the unit couldn't pump the detergent because the detergent is too thin. So I purchased Dawn Hand Renewal and Ivory liquid hand soap, both just a bit thicker than regular Dawn, and mixed those two soaps with the regular Dawn dish washing detergent in an empty gallon water jug. Dawn is a great grease cutter for dishes which is why I mixed it with the other soaps. The unit pumps it perfectly, so now I have two units on the counter where I use one for regular hand soap and the other for dish washing soap. Just put a dish sponge under the dispenser and a perfect amount is dispensed on the sponge to clean up dishes in the sink! Second, the silver release knob on the top of the unit unlocks the soap tank. It doesn't specifically say so in the instructions but it's best to leave the unit sitting on the counter, turn the silver knob to release the soap tank and simply lift the pump unit up to slide it off the tank. If you try to hold it and release the knob, the tank may just slip out and fall on the counter or spill soap. The only other thing to note is to TURN OFF THE UNIT when you're going to wipe it off or refill it. Duh. Yes, I'm stupid. I'd keep grabbing the thing to move it or wipe it off and soap would automatically dispense on my hand. It sure does the job right but you can't be stupid like me!

Great for hand sanitizer May 1, 2011

We use it in the office to keep our hands clean. Right in between the fax machine and printer. Sometimes the spout dries up and we have to clean it the tip with a tissue. But thats the sanitizer and no fault to the unit.The unit dispenses just the right amount with just a wave of my hand.We love it! We highly recommend it.

I've become an expert in these devices, having now bought 5 different brands.This is the worst of the lot, with no redeeming features whatsoever. It is flimsy, cheapplastic, difficult to fill, and refuses to operate the way these things normally do.Once turned on, it continues pumping soap everywhere until you power it off or it isempty. I spent 15 minutes with it and then tossed it into the garbage. Add another 5 minsfor this review and now, down $30 ; 20 minutes, I ask kindly that you mention it no more to me.
