After ordering several other more expensive liquid soap dispensers only to have them all corrode, this one has the proper design. It simply uses a plastic container to hold the liquid soap. The stainless parts can be cleaned easily plus the base has a rubber pad that prevents the dispenser from slipping on the countertop. Well engineered and worth the bargain price.

We had searched for a soap dispenser to go with our newly renovated master bath that had satin nickel fixtures. This looks great. It has a large capacity so you will not need to refill often. The plastic looks like frosted glass and is of a good quality. The main reason we chose this dispenser is that it is stainless steel and will not rust on the countertop. Many of the other dispensers in other metals had poor reviews regarding rust. This also has a rubber bottom which makes it nonslip. High quality product and I would recommend.

Pump needs some finesse to depress, some rust, not attractive October 25, 2011

The biggest problem with this soap dispenser is that the pump does not depress if it is pushed straight down. To depress the pump, we have to wiggle it a little and press down slightly to one side or another and maybe at a slight angle - but not always at the same angle. Wiggling the top and pressing down by pushing slightly toward the left works one time, while the next time might require pushing more toward the right or toward the front to get the pump to go down. I've learned to deal with this quirk and can get it to work for me as described, but my husband gives up after the first attempt. "Get another one!" he told me this morning.The next problem is the rust. Now at first, I didn't notice it. I did see that the other reviewers had mentioned rust, but I didn't see any on mine (which I've only used for about a week) until I unscrewed the top to try to figure out why the pump was so finicky. That's when I saw it -- just under the rim between the pump mechanism and the soap container -- rust.Another problem is the "rubber" (as another reviewer called it) on the bottom. I wouldn't call it rubber, though. To me it looks more like a thin disk of foam, the kind that will eventually rot away in bits in pieces. Hard-textured rubber definitely would have made sense, but unfortunately that wasn't the material used.Lastly, this isn't nearly as pretty as I had imagined it would be. The center is clearly plastic, and where the plastic meets the stainless steel, there are tiny strings of plastic that I haven't been able to remove entirely yet. The stainless steel is brushed/matte (not shiny) and shows dried water marks more than I'd like.Without the first problem, I'd live with all the others. However a soap pump that discourages family members from using soap when washing their hands is not desirable. When we empty the contents, this item is going into the garbage, unfortunately.

Looks great - performs poorly.
The bottom eventually rusts which for a stainless steel sink is a nightmare. The spigot has also come out - frequently - something common to other dispensers as well. Read more

Don't waste your money
The top doesn't close tightly so that pumping the soap is a truly messy and annoying task. It also looked ridiculous with the top askew all the time. Read more

rusted like all the others
I have read 2 good reviews on Amazon and bought 2 of these pumps. However, they both rusted in a couple of days. Will not recommend this product.

Looks great, rust the same day I put it out
Looks great, but this item got rusty the same day I put it to use! I had bought three of them based on the two great reviews. Waste of money. Don't buy
